Characters
The development of characters is usually very important to a story. Some characters will be main characters and others will be minor characters. A main character has an important role in the story. Another way to classify characters is to look for the protagonist and the antagonist.
The protagonist is the main character of a story. Sometimes the protagonist is the “good guy,” but not always. The antagonist is the character who causes problems for the protagonist.
Think of a book you have read recently and the development of the characters. Choose a character from the book and tell me if this character is a protagonist or antagonist and explain why. Make sure you tell me the name of the book first.

Hi Mr.B,
I'm reading Little Women. The protagonist in my book are eg, Jo, Beth, and Amy. The reason why they are all the protagonist is because, they are all very nice and helpful. In the book they are very poor. The "Little Women" in the book do not care to much that they are poor, but sometimes they wish they weren't. All of the "Little Women" are very differrent than each other, but that doesn't mean that they are mean though. I hope you liked reading my comment about my protagonist in my book.

P.S. Little Women is a very good book in my opinion. I hope you read this book:)

Hey mr be i'm reading Percy Jackson AND THE SEA OF MONSTERS the protagonist in my story is Percy Jackson and he's the protagonist because he's trying to save his friend Grover from being eaten by a ogre the antagonis is luke pecause he's trying to destroy the gods and destroy Percy with them hes also trying to stop Percy from saving his friend grover and if Grover dies Percy dies to because Grover is his protecter and Percy and Grover have a close connection and that's why Percy is the protagonist because he wants to save his friend and also the antagonis is Luke because he's trying to destroy the gods and Percy with them
Hi Mr B,
I have just finished the Hunger Games and I think that Rue, Katniss and Petta are the protagonists because they all helped each other live and fed each other. Rue and Katniss were best friends untill Rue was killed by a boy from district 1, Katniss loved Rue so much I think that was the worst part in the book. The antagonists are all the other tributes from the other districts because they all tried to kill the protagonist (Rue, Katniss and Petta) which is very mean and rude! I loved the Hunger Games a lot I really hope that you read the Hunger Games :)
-Abby Orso

In the book How to Steal a Dog the protagonist is Gorgeana. The antagonis is Lurren a litte because she will not leave Gorgeana alone

I was reading a book (it was a novel) called Ghost Knight, and one of the protagonists is Jon Whitcroft. Jon Whitcroft is a protagonist because he is trying to do good things like helping defeat evil ghosts, and he is trying to help a good ghost by finding his heart. Another protagonist is Ella. Ella is a protagonist because she is trying to help Jon Whitcroft with defeating evil ghosts and she is also trying to help Jon Whitcroft with finding the good ghost's heart. This is why I think that Jon whitcroft and Ella the are Protagonists in the book Ghost knight. This is the end of my comment. (by the way Mr. Berenson, this is the replacement of the old comment that I made while using the Ipads that didn't reach your email.)

Hi Mr.B,
I am writing a comment for Abby Orso's blog that she wrote for characters. Her blog enrty was about the Hunger Games. I also read the Hunger Games and I think I would say that Katniss, Petta, and Rue are the protagonist because, they always helped each other, got food and, were just nice to each other. The antagonist from the book were the tributes from Disrict One and probably District Two. The reason why I said those districts is because they were the meanest and they had the most power it seemed like then all of the other districts. I hoped you liked reading my comment.

Hi mr.b I think that the sisters Grimm the book that I'm reading is fantasy/mystery because it has made up charterers and it has mysterys that needed to be solved.
I also think that the book "the witches"is fantasy and mystery because witches don't exest and that no one knows if it is a witch also this is my favorite genera of books.
