Get Ready for Your Book Talk

You are going to write a booktalk  and share it with our class.  Here are some questions you need to answer that will get you started.

1.Tell me the title of the book you are reading and who is the author.
2.What is the genre of your book?
3. Is your book part of a series?  If yes, where in the series does it fit in?
4.What is the strong point of your book?
Does it have a surprise ending?
Does it have a really likable main character or a bad guy who is easy to hate?
Does your book have the ability to make the reader laugh or cry?
Does your book have a really detailed description of the setting?

Hi Mr.B
I'm reading the book Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. The genre of my book is Sci Fi. My book is in a series. The series is the Hunger Games series. Catching Fire is the second book in the series. Catching Fire has a lot of strong points. One is that Katniss is a very likable character. I think of Katniss like me sometimes. Katniss is adventuress and she likes going where you're not supposed to. I kind of am like that sometimes to. The book is able to make people laugh and cry. The reason why is because the characters have different emotions and you feel them like the characters are in the book. Catching Fire describes the setting a lot during the book. It winter time in the part I'm reading and there was just a huge blizzard. They live in Peanem in District 12. Hope you liked my post.

Hi Mr.B,
Lemony Snicket is the author of a series of unfortunate events. The one that I'm reading is the vile village and I'm almost done with it.The genre is fantasy because I don't think there is anyone that is as despicable as Count Olaf.
(the villain.)It is part of a series called a series of unfortunate events. It fits in when CountOlaf is first mentioned in the story. The strong point int the story is
the three Bauldilaires trying to stay safe from Count Olaf.
The Baulidaires are likable and Count Olaf is not likable
AT ALL. The surprise ending are like the same, there is never a happy ending. The misfortune that happens in the story has the ability to make you cry,
and Lemony Snicket's narration can make you laugh.
The setting is very descrptive about the town,
But not about the time .

Hi Mr.B,
The title my book is Catching Fire and the author is Suzzanne Collins. The genre is science fiction. My book is also in a series. The series is the Hunger Games trilogy, this book is the second book. I think that this book defiantly fits in with the series because the Hunger Games book left you off wanting to read more. The strong point in this book is when Katniss has to go back to the arena and fight again in the Games, but this time it is called the Quarter Quell. I am not done with this book but I know it will be good. The main character-Katniss, is very likable because she she has a great personality and is very outgoing, she also won the Hunger Games. In the Hunger Games there was a sad part, the sad part was when Katniss best friend in the Hunger Games dies and Katniss covers her with flowers. In this book there is a lot of details and I could defiantly could picture it in my head. The author also puts in so much details about the Hunger Games I could also picture that in my head. Hope you enjoyed my really long blog. :)

Hi Mr.B,
This is a blog that does relate to my book just not to any questions, it is about the movie. This weekend I watched the Hunger Games movie and it was awesome! There was some parts that worked well with the story and some parts not so much. If you did not read the book I can see how you would not like the movie. In my opinion I think that the book is way better than the movie, because in the book the author told so much about the Hunger Games and all the information that you need to under stand the book. My favorite part in the movie was when Katniss covered Rue in flowers when Rue died, it was sad and touching at the same time. Hope you enjoyed my blog! ;)

Katniss is about to shout and the women says stop. The women that said stop is from sdistrict eight. The women and her her duaghter took the peacekeepers uniforms so they wouldn't get killed. The to women's names are Bonnie and Twill. They left because there is an uprising in District eight. I hope you like reading my comment about Katniss going to the house by the lake.

Hi Mr.B Berenson
I'm responding to Abbies first blog from this week. I think it was a very good blog. If I could add anything it would be to say the setting of Cathching Fire whitch is in Paneam and that in her setting of Paneam is that it is sping time. I can also definitaly say just what Abby said about how the reader wants to keep on reading and not put the book down, also that at the end of the Hunger games you just wanted to keep on reading and just start the next book up right as you finish the first. I can't wait to read the Last book whitch is Mockingjay. Hope you liked my comment. :)

Hi Mr.B
I am going to add more to my blog this week. The genre of my book is realistic fiction so far because the story is about Elise and her friend Franklin and it is their first day of school and on the last day of summer Elise and her friend franklin where playing a game a Elise got scabs all over her leg because the game they where playing had wooden swords and they where fighting each other. So at school every one is making fun of her. So I though that was a really thing that could happen. The strong point of my story is about a girl named Elise and her best friend Franklin and in the summer they are playing with wooden swords and Elise gets scabs all over her leg and on the first day of school every one is making fun of her.

The title of the book that I am reading is The Mark of Athena, it is by Rick Riordan. The genre of my book is fantasy/adventure, because The Mark of Athena has: monsters, giants, gods, goddesses, demigods, pegasi, Titans, storm spirits, satyrs, nymphs, and giant spiders. The Mark of Athena is in the The Hero's of Olympus series, The Lost Hero is the first book, The Son of Neptune is the second book, The Mark of Athena is the third book, The House of Hades is the forth book(to be released in the fall of two-thousand thirteen), the fifth book is to be released in two-thousand fourteen and is yet to be named. Yes my book has a strong point, but I cannot tell you because Jakob has not finished the book yet, and I do not want to give away the ending.

Yes, The Mark of Athena has a surprise ending, but Jakob has not yet finished the book and I do not want to give away the ending. The Mark of Athena has many characters/evil people that are easy to love, or hate, like: Gaea, Percy, Leo, the evil ghost things, the giants, Jason, Piper, Arachnia, and a bunch of other people. The Mark of Athena has the ability to make you laugh, and scared, it has the logical way of having the characters win or lose, and win like they would in real life. The Mark of Athena has an extremely detailed setting, (speaking figuratively) the book is described to the molecule in a room, I.E. it is too detailed to describe.

Your Best,
LoganW

1 in my book HATCHET Brian does change because after he gets in a plane crash he changes his personality. It changes because he seems to have got much more respect and care for other people. Because his pilot has a heart attack and the plane crashed in a lake. And he keeps on saying and thinking wow that poor man still strapped down in his seat under the water. 2 The most important character in my story is Brian. Brian is the most important because the story mostly focuses on him and he is because of all the great things he did to try and land the plane. 3 well Brian in my story does something good no never mind amazing. He is crashing down in the plane and he does everything he possibely can to try and land the plane. And he manages to land it in the water and prevent himself from dying. And he landed the plane into a lake and he swam out through the font windows and dragged himself on land. He risked his own life to save others but all he could do is save himself. And because of that he did a amazing outrages courages thing even though he didn't even now how to fly a plane.
