Point of View

The story of The Witches comes from one narrator. He speaks in the first person because he is telling a story that has happened to him. This kind of narration works for a few reasons. First, we get to hear the story from the point of view of a kid.  The first-person narration adds to the childlike wonder of the whole thing.  Also, it gets us as close to the story as we can possibly be. The person who lived it is the one telling it.  In class we talked about the point of view of this story and other stories that you are reading independently.
A story can also be written in third person where all different characters are telling the story.  This is probably the most popular way a book is written.  There is point of view which is the rarest way to write a book, it is a story written in second person.  In second person the narrator refers to the reader as a character, making you feel like you are in the story.
Now tell me about the story you are reading.  Tell me what is the point of view of this book and give me examples that proves it.

The book that I am reading called The Mark of Athena is in third person. I think it is third person because there is no point of view saying you, or I. It only has point of view saying he, she, or it. so that's my comment. It was pretty short this time, so I'm going to write a few others.

P.S. Is this the first comment for this? if so, please put a comment about it, Mr.B, because it would be the first time it happened. I just looked at how many comments there were when I got on this afternoon, and it said 0.

Hi Mr.B
The book that I'm reading right nonw is Little Women. I think my book is third person because it has three characters telling the story. The people that are telling the story are Meg, Jo, and Amy. The reason why it is third person is because, all three of them are telling the story. I have read a second perosn book before. It was ok. I hoped you liked reading my comment obout point of view.
-Catie Giffen ;)
P.S. My book is really long!

Hey MR.B I was reading PERCY JACKSON AND THE SEA OF MONSTERS. It is in first person because the person that wrote the story wrote the story like you are Percy Jackson. By making the person actually talk and he's not saying things like this.''So percy and his friends kept moving forward'' He says things like ''common guys lets keep on moving'' As if you were that person.

The book that I am reading is called The Mark of Athena, and it is written in the third person. I know that my book is in the third person because there are four people telling the story, and the story is told like: he said this and he said that, aposed (I know that I spelled the word wrong) to: I did this and I did that. And one last thing: I am writing a book and I am telling the story in an informational way, what perspective is that?

My book The Mark of Athena is in 3rd person because there are over 10 people talking in the first 6 chapters. The reason is it uses he, she,and it.And only has a couple times it says you or I.

The book I am reading is called The Throne of fire. I think it is in 3rd person. The reason is there are multiple people talking at one time. There is also lots of he, she, and it in the book.

YEAH! Aiden. I LOVE that series and am happy that you are reading it too.

Hi Mr.B
The book the witches Is a really good book. When we watch the movie it will probably be fun. When are we going to finish the book? Soon. I like Roald Dahls book they are very funny and crazy. I am not going to buy this book because it is very easy for me, Abby bought the book and she said that she really likes it. I hope you liked reading my comment about the witches.

I am reading How to Steal a dog. I think it is first person because there is only one person telling the story and it is the narrator. The same as The Witches because the narrator does not have a name.

Hi Mr.B

Hi Mr.B,
The book I'm reading is Catching Fire. I think it is 3rd person because not only Katniss (main character) or a narrater is telling the story but Gale, Peeta and all the other characters are talking and telling the story too. Then like Haleigh said on her blog that she thought that the Hunger Games was a 1st person and I can see how she thinks that. Katniss does tell a lot of the story but there is always again Gale, Peeta, Haymitch, Prim, Katniss mom and all the other peacekeepers and all the other people in the Hunger Games series help tell the story too. I love this series so far and after I am done with Catching Fire I am probably going too take a break from the Mocking Jay (the next book in the Hunger Games series). I hope you enjoyed my comment! ;)

Hi Class,
This is your bud Abby, I read a of the classes comments and I defiantly will keep Little Women on my mind because Catie had a very good comment. When I take a break from the Hunger Games series I will defiantly have this book on my mind. I am almost half way through the book and I have been thinking about what book I am going to read next, so if some one has a great book that they thought was really good then comment on my comment. If his helps I love mysteries and classics. I hope I get some recommended books. Hope you enjoyed my blog. ;)
